Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that Western Research Parks is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee Lūnaapéewak and Chonnonton Nations, on lands connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.
We understand these treaties are marked by a commitment to the preservation of land and water. As we stand in the scenic setting of Western Research Parks, surrounded by woods, water and wildlife, we heed the messages of unity with the land and water, and of sustainability and preservation of our natural habitat.
We recognise that this land remains home to diverse Indigenous Peoples, whom we recognize as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributors of our society.
We acknowledge historical and ongoing injustices endured by Indigenous Peoples in Canada, and we accept responsibility to contribute towards revealing and correcting miseducation as well as fostering respectful relationships with Indigenous communities.
We move forward with a profound sense of gratitude and respect for the land and its original caretakers, and strive for a future where innovation benefits all members of our community, including those who have been its stewards for generations.
